It is a by product of the winemaking industry, the oil is pressed from the seeds of grapes that are used for wine making.

What is Grapeseed Oil Used For?
Due to its high linoleic acid value, grapeseed oil is great at improving moisture retention on the skin. Grapeseed is very fast absorbing, making it a great carrier oil for skincare products.
Grapeseed oil is often used in cosmetics for its vitamin content and health and beauty benefits. It can be used in products like body butters, hair care products, scalp and hair treatments or cold process soap making.
It has a comedogenic rating of 1 so it is unlikely to clog pores. It is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin, combination skin, oily skin and acne prone skin types.
Compared to other oils, grapeseed oil is the most ideal base to use as a massage oil. Grapeseed oil blends well with any essential oil and moisturises and nourishes the skin.

Grapeseed oil 350ml

Essential oils (optional)
Method

Melt your shea butter and coconut oil in a microwave, or in a bowl over boiling water

Add the grapeseed oil and essential oils to the melted shea and coconut

Mix the oils and butters together until fully combined

Remove from the heat and place in the fridge to cool

Once the mixture is looking like it is starting to set, whisk for 5-10 minutes. It should reach a light, creamy consistency

Now your skin treatment is ready for use!
How to Make a Grapeseed Massage Oil
Grapeseed oil is a great carrier oil for massage oils as it is highly moisturising on the skin. Simple add your favourite essential oils to make a fragranced massage oil! Here are a few examples:
For a relaxing massage blend, dilute 10ml of lavender essential oil into 1L of grapeseed oil.
For an uplifting massage blend, dilute 10ml of orange essential oil in 1L of grapeseed oil.
